Where the third wave end?
Hi,
I think a very interesting situation (imho) is unveiling right now in Avalon Ventures (AVL) which lead me to ask important question: where the third wave end? Right now, from what I see wave 1 is longer than 3 but shorter than 3 + B -----------------------------------------1 ---------2 --------------------------------------------3 ----------------------------------------A4 ---------------------------------------------------------B4 ------C4 Wave 5 have to be at list at the level of B which will make wave 3 the shortest. My count could be wrong of course , but if not, which length (price wise) should be used for NEWR wave 3: 2-3 or 2-B4? Btw another question: on few occasion in low priced stocks I noticed that the count couldn’t be made if B4 have to exceed 3, but B4 equaling 3 would solve this situation. Considering that failure is ‘less than’, could be ‘equal’ in relation of 3 - B4 be valid NEWR solution? Regards, Lego |

RE: Where the third wave end?
Hi Lego,
Welcome to NEWR. I'll let Tom take the second question. The one about the length of 3rd wave I can handle easy. The 3rd does not have to be the longest (a common misunderstanding). It just cannot be the shortest so your wave 1 has satisfied the shorter than 3 for this wave's counting. 3kings |

RE: Where the third wave end?
Hi,
Thank you 3kings for prompt answer. Sorry, my bad, I was measuring price on logarithmic scale, silly me. When I worked prices by calculator, the third wave is longer than first 0 ($4.98)(starting point) -----------------------------------------1 ($8.41) net: $3.43 ---------2 (5.68) --------------------------------------------3 ($9.18) net: $3.50 ----------------------------------------A4 ($8.20) ---------------------------------------------------------B4 ($9.65) ------C4 ($6.16) 5th wave min $3.49 But the question reminds open , and I rephrase the question:For measuring purposes, where the third wave end: 2-3 or 2-B4? (05-17-2011 08:56 PM)Lego Wrote: Hi, Well the rule to remember for the impulse lengths is as 3kings already stated. Now for the other part of your question, the NEWR does not change any basic counting as it relates to waves. (Although in practice we sure have chucked a lot of junk). It is only the travel of 4th waves as they relate to the start and ending of the other waves which is changed in particular larger degree relationships to which the 4th wave belongs. Those particular larger degree relationships determine if a 4th wave will or will not have the RTB. So the actual ending of a 3rd wave is only determined by its OWN internal count and not whether or not the 4th should have an RTB because it is a subwave of a 5th or C wave of larger degree. In short it ends when it ends. The total length of a 3rd wave would not ever be combined with an RTB for verification of the "cannot be shortest" rule but it must be considered together to make sure a 5th has not fallen short of completion. Since waves cannot 'fail' I understand your question. I hope this helps and Welcome to NEWR.

My pleasure.
It was a very good question.
