Is the DAX acting as a leading indicator?
Several EWTers that I rate, have been mentioning for a couple of months, that the DAX seems to be ahead of the game in terms of getting to pivots.
I have been watching it more closely from the end of November because it suits my lifestyle/timezone here in the UK. Anyone trading the FTSE which opens at 08:00 Zulu has IMO to be at their screen ready for the DAX opening 1 hr earlier. I have a load of screenshots saved and am more than willing to share them but only an exchange basis. I have just been stopped out of a tremendous Short position - usual problem for me; great entry and probably a lousy exit after I lose the count. Off to play golf now and will check later if anyone is interested. cheers theory |

Theory- I am definitely interested, but I only have daily data for DAX, not intraday. If you want to post charts that have the data, I would certainly be more than willing to analyze it with you. |

RE: Is the DAX acting as a leading indicator?
Hi Finster, thanks for the offer to have a look at this. In order that all the data is comparable I have downloaded my SB supplier's Daily (00:00 to 23:59 Zulu), 1hr, 5 min, 1 min and 100 tick. The timings are in the top right corner of the charts.
I have given you the whole picture for each time and a slightly zoomed in one when I feel you might benefit from it. |

My data shows it lagging by a day at the Oct high, and the Nov 1 and Nov 25 lows occurring on the same day. Hi Perry, no need to apologise IMO. If someone wants to benefit from your thought processes, than they have to learn to live with your thought processes. I've done a direct comparison using SB 24 hr data, starting at 00:00 12th Oct, which is the start of the 1 hr data now available to me. The % on the right hand scale are the changes since that starting candle. NO reason why they should be at the same stage of their counts. I have picked out a couple of places where the DAX pivoted at some degree, significantly earlier than the S&P pivoted at what could well be a different place in its count. cheers theory |

RE: Is the DAX acting as a leading indicator?
Totally off topic but my grand-daughter thinks Tom (she loves your avatar) reads every post and awards stars on merit - like her teacher does.
I think it's done by number alone and 250 seems a reasonable target after the last one was earned by 100 posts. You can tell what sort of experience she gets when she visits when I tell you she has bet 5 sweets/pieces of candy @ 4-1 that this post won't change the number of stars I have got. Here goes..... cheers theory Added as an edit - YESSSS! |

RE: Is the DAX acting as a leading indicator?
Hi Tom, hope you had great Christmas. I was formally charged with insider dealing and was due to go before the family court. I managed to deal it down to saving her teeth from too many sweets and got a suspended sentence. The trade has been declared null and void and all stakes returned.
Looking forward to when the markets reopen, she wants to continue our game of "What colour will the next candle be?" . Dojis don't count, played at even money when we disagree. Cheers theory |
