What is "social mood"?
High levels = low risk aversion. A typical trader's day should look like this: Enter a ridiculously risky trade right at the opening bell, or even better, before the bell. As the hours go by, you feel more and more uncomfortable. Then, around eleven, you regain confidence. You decide, it's a waste of time to watch those boring candlesticks like all the other morons do. You go to some forum to see, if you can find someone to belittle. Hopefully, a few women will read it and admire your superior intellect. Dream on.
You go to lunch, it becomes clearer and clearer to you, that you probably made a mistake in the morning. You don't want to know, how big the mistake was. You take a nap. An hour before the closing bell, you return to your computer. Your position is deep in the red. Time to double it. |

Oh, I get it now!
So when they sang, " 'You' are only coming through in waves", they really did mean 'ME' ! DOH!

RE: Who is "social mood"?
T Sugar Hennessy, before your hands start feeling just like two balloons, you may want to consider teaching teenage widows.
Can you believe you just got me to look up "DOH" at 2:30 in the morning? Hope that makes your day :-) |

RE: Who is "social mood"?
I'm not sure, now that you mention it, but do you think
Homer Simpson likes German Beer? He might be offended if it turns out that he does. ![]() PS. Yes it made my day.

RE: Who is "social mood"?
DOH: "Deliriously Overcome with Hilarity" - so much for Google as a useful tool?
"Not from around here, huh?" is a question that overestimates my willingness to do research. Now to the important question: Yellow horseshoe, German beer is not for wimps. So tell me, how could it get the teenage widows trashed without doing more damage? |

DOH!
A common expression of a comic character named "Homer Simpson". I think it means DOH!

RE: Who is "social mood"?
We’re all just one post away from humili … Ah, I always get those confused, just like hostility and hospitality. I’ll just crawl back onto my rock on the Rhine and silently watch the waves for awhile.

Please don't take my joking sparring as anything serious, ruby.
I did not follow all of what you were talking about but did not want to ignore the post and figured if I played along all would become clearer. My sincerest apologies if any of my nonsense offended you in any way. Tom TS Hennessy |

RE: Who is "social mood"?
That was sweet. And I apologize for taking so long with my answer. Hm… you didn’t understand everything I wrote?
“Now that you (who?) mention it (what?), do you (who?) think Homer Simpson likes German beer?” (… at least he remembers where I live and doesn’t think I’m a man calling him “sugar”.) “Because if it turns out that he does, he might be offended.” (If Homer likes German beer, he might be offended? If this is not a severe case of tick-borne encephalitis, I’m in the middle of some modified immigration and naturalization exam on American history and culture. Tom seems to like quotes. Hm. “Homer Simpson likes German beer” sounds like “Blue Horseshoe loves Anacott Steel”. Is Tom seriously asking me whether I think that he likes me? And if it turns out that he does, he might be offended? What kind of a question is that? – Of course I think he likes me. I know he does. Plus, if he didn’t, why would he even think of being offended? I certainly didn’t offend him on purpose … Luckily, I haven’t written much yet. Only answered with another line from that song and suggested that teenage widows wouldn’t require nearly as much typing, as they are extremely rare. I didn’t say: “What are you still doing here, go and molest some teenage widows, but leave ME alone!” Then Dan walks in and asks me: “Not from around here, huh?” Where is “here”? Dan, when you look out the window, what do you see? We’ll get you out of there as soon as we can. And then you tell me that doh means doh. When I only said that taking back something as harmless as the teenage widows would be equal to me calling you a wimp. |
